Favorite carnival moments

My favorite moment in the Barranquilla carnival is on saturday "La Batalla de Flores", because in my opinion this is the best parade of all and also the more organized. In this parade you can appreciate the culture, music and dances of our city and also all the different costumes of the carnival. I have a lot of time without go to that parade but that is still my favorite day of carnivals, i think  the next year i will go again. Another day that i like is the guacherna parade, last year i was in this parade with some friends and we dressed a monocuco costume but this year i didnt go. This year i wasn't involved in the carnivals i only went to country club party on saturday. Here are some pictures of the guacherna of last year and the cc party on saturday.

Tuareg culture

 1. What do we learn about Tuareg culture from this video?

I can learn from this videos some things that are very important to Taureg culture, for example the women, tea, water; also we can appreciate their lifestyle, the way they dress, the place where the live.

2. Keeping in mind what you learned from this interview, how does seeing the visuals within the video and knowing the meaning of the lyrics give us a deeper understanding of Tuareg culture?`

While we are reading the lyrics and watching the video you can understand a lot of things they do in the video, and we can see how they feel and to understand that this culture have a lot of social problems in their lifes.

Barranquilla - 2013 Cultural Capital

1. Why was Barranquilla chosen?

Barranquilla was chosen because when the president of the International Bureau of the Cultural Capitals, Xavier Tudela, visited the city was impressed with all  and he saw positives thing in the people who live here and saw the development our city is having. He also saw the culture this city has, the way of the people live here, the hapiness and the positivism that have all the goverments who want the good development of this.

2. Will Barranquilla receive any of the economic benefits Liverpool hoped to from being named a cultural capital?

Yes, I think the city will receive economic benefits and a lot of opportunities to be more recognized around the world and also be a tourist city.

An American in Ungada

1. What different points of view do we see in this story?

One point of view in this story is the different lifestyles that these men have. One have a easy life with everything he wants with a lot of facilities, education, money. And the other have a difficult economic situation without not education and always are asking for money because with his work paid is not enough to survive.

I think some people only treat other people because of their social class, money or education but they dont have consideration and dont think in all the problems these people could have. In my opinion, people who have money and education have to be more considerate and pleasing with these people who dont have it all.

2. Explain the reasons behind the miscommunication that occurred between these two men.

I think that one of the reasons they didnt understand each other its because they only focus in themselves and in their needs. also influence the different lifestyles, way of thinking. They live different lives and focus on differents things, for example one thing may be important for one of them but stupid for the other.
